Had a good conversation with a small mixed group of classroom and gifted ed teachers yesterday at the Three Lakes Special Education Coop. We started talking about technology and learning but quickly moved into more specific discussion concerning the use of blogs.

Much of the conversation involved the use of blogs to increase engagement and writing skills among gifted kids. We also spent part of the time setting up a group blog and individual blogs. Most had not heard of blogs before but quickly saw the benefits of using technology with gifted kids.

I overheard one comment that made me think that “they got it.” A teacher mentioned that even kids in “normal” (i.e. non-special ed kids) could use blogs to increase writing skills.

YES! Quality instruction works with all kids. It was fun watching and listening to teachers brain-storm ways to use technology in ways that benefit all kids.
