Not sure if this is an actual test, though it looks real. Pretty sure I wouldn’t have done very well if it were!
Also pretty sure I don’t agree that today’s social studies / civics teachers are “deliberately dumbing down” the curriculum.
The teachers I know deliberately plan for their kids to be able to apply information, not just memorize information. Much of what Kenny was able to regurgitate in 1954, my kids could find on Google in under a minute. Hopefully we’ve gotten past the idea that “smart” equals the ability to store large amounts of data (though Kenny does do an “excellent” job of it!) and are asking kids to find, evaluate and apply large amounts of data instead.
