Wow! I was blown away this morning by Becky Herl and Judy Beam who talked about how to use Digital Storytelling in education. Information, ideas and more on tools such as Voicethread, Animoto, Mixbook, Photostory and Moviemaker can be found at their Digital Storytelling wiki. They’ve posted tutorials, lesson plans and starter ideas.
One of the things that I especially like is a link to a rubric creator that walks you through the process of creating a scoring guide specifically for digital story projects.
They didn’t talk about Mac tools such as Garageband, iPhoto and iMovie but if you’re on the Apple side of the world, those three tools are incredible.
What a great way to have kids process and synthesize social studies content.
